Visit the fascinating underground Dubai Museum housed in the Al Fahidi Fort, built in 1800 from sea rocks and gypsum to defend the city. Inside the museum, feel the cooling effect of an old wind tower; wander past cabinets housing traditional khanjars (curved daggers) as well as musical instruments dated 300bcs. While in the basement, view film of Dubai dated 1930's, market life from 1950's, desert life, learn how the early pearl divers risked their lives for the bounty of the Gulf water. Discover the true beauty of Dubai while aboard a traditionally decorated wooden dhow (cabin cruise), as it sails along the Dubai creek under the moonlight. The major Dubai landmarks shine through the moonlit sky as the wooden vessel slips silently across the creek. The past and present architecture of the area is brought to its full beauty during this time, including the National Bank of Dubai, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Sheikh Saeed's house, and the Heritage Village. This tour will take you to Sharjah, the Pearl of the Gulf. One of the many landmarks to see during the tour is King Faisal Mosque, currently the largest mosque in the Emirates.We visit the renovated Fort of Sharjah, former residence of the ruling family originally built in 1820, then proceed to Al Nabooddah House, the museum for cultural heritage. After strolling through the adjacent souk Al Arsa there is a photo-stop at the Majarra souk. Before returning you have time to wander and shop at the souk Al Markazi-a treasure trove of carpets,jewellery and handicrafts.
Discover the wonders of Abu Dhabi, capital of the Emirates, known as the Arabian Jewel . Jebel Ali Port,the biggest man-made port in the world is one of the landmarks that we pass by on the way to Abu Dhabi. On arrival, the first destination is the Women's Handicraft Center, admire the skill and dexterity of local ladies making traditional handicrafts. The tour then proceeds to Abu Dhabi's oldest building, Al Husn Palace. At the Petroleum Exhibition learn about black gold (oil), then enjoy a magnificentview of the city after driving along the beautiful Corniche to the Breakwater. Before returning to Dubai/ Sharjah, tour the Dhow Yard, where wooden ships are still being built using simple tools.
