After breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday and Friday) and his former residence, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature built in 11th century and considered the first university in Vietnam. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Historical museum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son temple. End the trip with shopping in the Old Quarter area. In the morning, drive to Halong bay 180km northeast of Hanoi. The scenery of evergreen rice fields along the route is the highlight of the road trip. Arrive Halong, enjoy 4 hour boat cruise on the Halong bay in which you will see hundreds of limestone outcrops jutting from the emerald green sea. Boat will stop at Thien Cung cave and Dau Go caves. Seafood lunch. Late afternoon, drive back to Hanoi and free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.
After breakfast, free at leisure until transfer to the airport for a flight to Danang. Meet your guide at Danang airport and transfer to Cham museum for a tour. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then proceed to the ancient town of Hoi An, a charming, little town which can be easily explored on foot. Between the 17th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international trading port with a large Chinese and Japanese population. Then in the second half of the 19th century, the harbor began to silt up and most of the town’s commercial interests moved to nearby Danang. Overnight at a hotel in Hoian.
In the morning, free at leisure until transfer to Hue and stop at Hai Van pass for sightseeing. Arrive Hue, we start our tour with the Citadel – Vietnam’s former imperial capital and recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we cruise along the Perfume River. Being the former royal capital, Hue’s surrounding countryside contains several of the tombs of the former Nguyen Emperors. You will visit Minh Mang Tomb. After that, visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. This is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601. Overnight at the hotel in Hue.
In the morning, visit Khaidinh and stop over at Dong Ba market for shopping. In the afternoon, free at leisure until transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chii Minh city. On arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel for check in, then take a short city tour to visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Centre Post Office, City Hall and China Town. Then transfer to Binh Tay Market for shopping. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh.
After breakfast, drive to the famous Cu Chi tunnels. This network of tunnels, stretching over 200km, became legendary during the 1960′s. The Cu Chi tunnels played a vital part in the American war. It helped Viet Cong to control a large rural area over 30 km from Saigon. Drive back Ho Chi Minh and lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue our city tour at Was museum, Reunification palace and Ben Thanh market. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh.
